What made me smile today?
The sun made me smile today, this whole past week, how about you? This week is starting out great and I am pretty sure it is because the sun is shining again after such a long, dreary winter.
What would I do if an uncle left me $50,000?
The thought of an uncle leaving me $50,000 in his will definitely makes me smile but it is so unlikely to happen, however if it did, what would I do with the money? Well, we still have a mortgage, so that would take care of that lump sum of money in a hurry. If our mortgage was already paid off, I would give my mom some money and treat her to something that would make her happy. I would visit family who live in Ontario and Alberta. I don’t travel near enough to see them.
What is my middle name?
I will tell you part of my middle name… Mae. My name is Nancy Mae B. Both my first and middle name were given in honour of both of my Grandmothers. One Grandmother did not get to meet me, she unfortunately passed away in May and I was born in July. She wanted my mom to have a girl because she had already had four boys. Then I got a little sister a few years later and two more little brothers. They are definitely not so little now!!!
What sounds do I like?
Quite honestly, I am a bit weird when it comes to sounds and noise. I love it when it is absolutely quiet, no sounds at all, not even white noise. But if there has to be sound, I love the sound of my cat purring on the bed next to me, I love the birds chirping, way up high so the cat can’t get at them. My hearing is very good and I have learned to appreciate it because my husband is about 90% deaf. He wears hearing aids but even with them, it is difficult for him to hear some sounds. We are talking about learning sign language, which will take a great deal of effort. I am thankful for texting on phone for my husband’s sake. It is easier for him to answer a text than to answer a phone call. He doesn’t have to guess at what people are saying.
So after all that about saying I love total quiet, I might have to change my mind. The ability to hear needs to be appreciated. I love being able to hear when my husband’s truck is pulling in the driveway. I love being able to hear when the kettle is boiled and shuts off, the timer on the stove pinging, the door bell ringing. I love being able to hear. Yes I do.
Remember to love yourself for being you.
