There’s Something About Nancy

I’m so excited!  This is my very first post on my brand new blog!  The “About Nancy” page pretty much sums up why I have started this blog, but I have so much more I want to say, teach and inspire.

As a child I couldn’t even say hello to anyone, I was so shy.  I look back at these days gone by and can’t believe how far I have come in the way of confidence, attitude, abilities and knowledge.

I just started a brand new You Tube Channel as well, called, “There’s Something About Nancy.”  The videos I am uploading will be about anything from my cat, Duffy, Born in the wrong era fashions, costume photography, how to paint without using masking tape.  I was a professional painter for 10 years with my own business but as luck would have it, the injuries I ended up having as a result of adding exterior painting to my work load, were too much to continue.  Having said that, I can manage an hour or two at a time, and that is enough to do tutorial videos from time to time.  I loved painting houses so much, I would still be doing it if I hadn’t come down with so many physical ailments.

I do hope you will watch, at least the intro video I have put on front page to get a small example of what I like to do and want to share with you.

Along with painting, I love to do wood working, I’ve done Tile Setting but I am definitely not a pro at that, but this blog is not about being perfect.  It is about having the confidence to try whatever I feel like doing.  It is always nice to know that people like what you are doing, but regardless of whether people like what I do, I am going to continue trying new things.  Anyone can do it, (if they want to.)  I don’t mean necessarily the things I am making videos of, but things you want to do but don’t think you can.  I hope I can inspire people to try things.  You might have to ask someone for help.  I don’t do everything totally by myself, I ask for help when I need it.

I’ve written many songs that I would like to share in the form of poetry, I’ve played music professionally and I will share some photos and maybe some stories about that as well.

I have uploaded three videos so far including the introduction to my channel and the next one I upload will be a 2 min. video of a do it yourself haircut.  My hair, my hands, my video.  It will make hairdressers everywhere, cringe, lol!  Maybe my cat doing something goofy will be the next video.  In any case, it should be fun to watch.

I do look forward to meeting all of you, reading your posts and following your blog.

Love yourself for being you!

Nancy B.

      1. Thanks Nancy. I have no idea how that happened haha. I’ve been trying to step out of my comfort zone and comment on people’s blog to network a bit so I guess it’s working. Thanks so much for your follow. I look forward to seeing more of your posts.
